In its Aug. 2, 2005, edition, the Lexington Herald-Leader newspaper carried a tragic story under the headline, “Baby Left in SUV Dies.” Reacting to this disaster, and other similar stories across the country, a group of concerned women determined they needed to take action to prevent such incidents from continuing to happen. Thus, the “Sisters of Invention” came into being. Our mission is to create and develop products, ideas and resources that will protect life and safety. Our first objective is to save infants from needless death in automobiles, and then to use the resources that are developed to protect others.
Sisters of Invention, LLC is a group of business women executives and our "brother" the attorney. Using existing technology, combined with new ideas and applications we are in the process of creating the HALO baby seat safety system to save lives. Our product will bring together the use of software, firmware and sophisticated electronic sensors in a system that is patentable. This product will alert parents, grandparents and other child care providers to unsafe conditions for children, avoiding needless injuries and fatalities.
Our dream continues toward reality, and we anticipate being ready to market this year or early next. The Baby Car Seat Safety System is an easily installed and affordable system that alerts parents and caretakers to babies being forgotten or exposed to dangerous temperatures. This system, we are confident, will help put an end to tragic headlines such as the one above, and give parents an important preventative tool to assure the safety of their children.
The Baby Car Seat Safety System can and will save the lives of those unable to fend for themselves. Using our patented sensor technology, the HALO Pet Safety System is also now in development.
The Pet System will prevent the tragic loss of pets due to hyperthermia by alerting drivers when an auto has reached an unsafe temperature. Animals succumb to heat stroke much more quickly than humans, and temperatures in cars become dangerous quickly, even on relatively mild days. The HALO Pet Safety System is targeted to begin production once the Baby Seat System is on the market.
Sisters of Invention will continue finding life saving applications for this technology and will develop partnerships to share ideas and resources to promote safety to all.
